Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Litigation Counsel to manage and lead litigation matters related to our development, ownership, and operations. This is an in-house role focused on protecting assets, resolving disputes efficiently, and driving favorable outcomes.

This position will work closely with ownership, property management, and outside counsel.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage all real estate-related litigation, including:
Landlord-tenant disputes
Construction defects & contractor disputes
Zoning, land use, and entitlement challenges
Title, boundary, easement, and access disputes
Foreclosure, lien, and creditor matters
Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
Develop litigation strategy and risk assessments
Manage and oversee outside counsel when required
Negotiate settlements and appear in court as needed
Advise leadership on dispute avoidance and exposure mitigation
Support acquisitions, development, and asset management teams on legal risk

Qualifications:

J.D. from an accredited law school
Active license in [Your State]
5+ years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for real estate, construction, or commercial litigation
Courtroom experience strongly preferred
Experience working with developers, owners, or property managers a plus
Practical, business-minded approach to litigation
Ability to operate independently in an in-house environment
