Description:
Position Summary:We are seeking an experienced Real Estate Litigation Counsel to manage and lead litigation matters related to our development, ownership, and operations. This is an in-house role focused on protecting assets, resolving disputes efficiently, and driving favorable outcomes.
This position will work closely with ownership, property management, and outside counsel.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all real estate-related litigation, including:
- Landlord-tenant disputes
- Construction defects & contractor disputes
- Zoning, land use, and entitlement challenges
- Title, boundary, easement, and access disputes
- Foreclosure, lien, and creditor matters
- Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement agreements
- Develop litigation strategy and risk assessments
- Manage and oversee outside counsel when required
- Negotiate settlements and appear in court as needed
- Advise leadership on dispute avoidance and exposure mitigation
- Support acquisitions, development, and asset management teams on legal risk
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Active license in [Your State]
- 5+ years of litigation experience, with a strong preference for real estate, construction, or commercial litigation
- Courtroom experience strongly preferred
- Experience working with developers, owners, or property managers a plus
- Practical, business-minded approach to litigation
- Ability to operate independently in an in-house environment

Pay: $140,000.00 - $180,000.00 per year
