The Anniston law firm of Wilson, Dillon, Pumroy & James, L.L.C., dates back to January of 1983. Lori A. Brown-James, widely recognized in the Calhoun County area as the best real estate closing attorney, joined the firm in 1993.

Our established and fast-paced firm is looking to add a Real Estate Attorney to assist in coordinating closings. Exact responsibilities and pay will be discussed during scheduled interviews.

Transactional Work
  • Drafting and Reviewing Documents: Preparing, reviewing, and revising all legal documents related to a real estate transaction, including purchase and sale agreements, lease contracts, mortgage documents, deeds, and transfer documents.
  • Conducting Due Diligence: Overseeing or conducting title searches to verify property ownership and identify any issues such as liens, judgments, easements, or boundary disputes. They then work to resolve these issues to ensure a clear title for transfer.
  • Facilitating Closings: Overseeing the closing process, which includes ensuring all documents are properly executed, funds are transferred correctly, and the deed is recorded with the appropriate authorities.
  • Providing Legal Advice: Explaining complex legal terminology, outlining a client's rights and responsibilities, assessing risks, and advising on issues such as zoning laws, land use regulations, property taxes, and environmental concerns.

Other Functions:
  • Ensuring Compliance: Staying current on all local, state, and federal real estate laws and ensuring all activities and documentation adhere to these regulations.
  • Collaborating with Professionals: Working closely with real estate agents, lenders, mortgage brokers, title companies, and property developers to ensure a smooth and legally sound transaction.
