Emmet Marvin & Martin LLP seeks an associate with a minimum of four to six years of real estate lending transactions representing banks, superior research and writing skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team. Experience in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
  • Representing financial institutions making complex commercial loans (including construction loans and term debt) that are secured by a range of commercial real property types.
  • Knowledge of affordable housing transaction experience is a plus. (i.e., involving deals financed with HDC and HFA bonds and IRC Section 42 tax credit equity)
  • The ability to prioritize and work well under pressure, a professional demeanor, excellent judgment, and superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • The candidate must be well-organized, diligent, and detail-oriented and must be able to work with a small group of attorneys and paralegals.
  • Applicants should be highly motivated with substantial growth potential. Have a strong academic background and must be licensed to practice in New York. New Jersey bar admission is a plus.

  • Minimum of four to six years of real estate lending experience.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and a member in good standing of the New York State Bar.
  • Strong academic record, interpersonal skills and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to multi-task and excellent organizational skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset and willingness to collaborate with other members of the group.
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize and willingness to take initiative.
