Description:
The Role:Our clients own real estate. A lot of it. Homes, rental portfolios, ranch land, mineral interests, and commercial property.
You'll be the firm's real estate lead. You'll make sure property gets titled, transferred, and protected the right way so the estate plans our attorneys build actually work when families need them to and are carried out appropriately.
This is a new seat. You'll help shape how real estate work flows through the firm, not just do the work.
What You'll Do:
- Own the firm's real estate practice, working closely with our estate planning and probate attorneys
- Lead real estate funding for estate plans and estate and trust administration — retitling property into trusts and entities accurately and timely
- Handle real estate issues in probate and estate administration, including transfers to heirs and beneficiaries and sales of estate property
- Lead mineral interest transfers and mineral operator communications for all estate planning and estate and trust administration projects
- Form and structure LLCs and other entities used to hold and protect real estate
- Review title policies and advise on title policy considerations
- Draft and review purchase agreements, leases, and other transactional documents related to clients' real property
- Advise on property tax exemptions and asset protection considerations
- Coordinate with title companies, lenders, CPAs, and wealth advisors
- Build repeatable checklists and processes for real estate work so the team can execute consistently
- Communicate proactively — clients and advisors hear from you before they have to ask
- Keep matter documentation clean and current in our case management system
- We use a scorecard. Here's what yours will look like:
- Deeds and transfer documents prepared within firm turnaround standards
- Real estate funding completed within target timeframe
- 95%+ of client and advisor communications answered within 24 hours
- Monthly production targets met
