Sheppard is seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney to join our Real Estate team in New York. Ideal candidates will have substantive experience in a variety of areas, including:
  • Lender-side financing — drafting and negotiating loan documents, reviewing and analyzing title commitments and underlying documents, surveys, opinion letters, leases, and zoning reports.
  • Purchase and sale transactions — drafting and negotiating contracts of sale, overseeing due diligence, preparing closing documents, and handling transaction oversight and logistics, including the review and negotiation of borrower-side loan documents.
  • Leasing — preparing and negotiating commercial leases (landlord and tenant side).

The New York Real Estate team is a vibrant, congenial, full-service practice group, active in purchase-sale transactions, financing (borrower and lender-side), leasing (landlord and tenant side), joint venture structuring/documenting, and zoning/land use. Our clients include national and international private equity owners, investors and developers, healthcare/insurance companies, and national and international lenders.

Requirements and Details:
  • 3-5 years of experience working on varied real estate transactions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong academic credentials from top-tier law school
  • Presence and composure to manage small teams

The annual salary range for this position is $260,000-$365,000.
