Description:

A Single Source for Veterinarians Company is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Product Counsel to join our team. The Product Counsel will partner closely with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, marketing and compliance, to provide legal guidance throughout the product development lifecycle. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technology transactions, intellectual property licensing, privacy and regulatory compliance, and possess the ability to anticipate legal risks and ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations.

What you will do:
  • Review and negotiate commercial contracts for all business functions, including: software licensing and SaaS agreements, vendor agreements, service level/support agreements, distribution agreements, DPAs, and other partnership agreements.
  • Provide legal advice to support business partners across the company, including working closely with the business and product team on new product launches.
  • Contribute to A Single Source for Veterinarians Company's privacy program by drafting and negotiating DPAs and advising the business teams on compliance with data privacy laws and regulations, including consumer data collection, use and disclosures.
  • Develop and maintain terms of service, terms of use, disclaimers, and other customer-facing documentation.
  • Assess and mitigate legal risks associated with new features, updates, and product launches
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop and implement legal strategies that align with business goals.

You should have
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with a strong academic record; active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
  • Minimum of 4-8 years of legal experience with a focus on technology and product counseling, ideally gained at a top-tier law firm (e.g., an AmLaw 100) or in-house at a software/tech-focused company.
  • Strong background in commercial contracting and tech transactions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including excellent negotiation, drafting and analytical skills.
