About the role:
As a Product Counsel on our Legal Team, you will be a key advisor from ideation to launch and beyond for company products. To drive success in this role, you will have experience supporting product launches for a regulated global company. Regular collaboration with our product, technology, marketing, and insurance teams will be key in ensuring that our product development goals are achieved.

Key Responsibilities:

• Help us grow, globally scale, and continuously improve our product offerings
• Partner with product managers, engineers, and designers to identify and mitigate legal risks in product design, development, and go-to-market strategies
• Deliver clear, practical legal advice relating to regulatory, privacy, and consumer protection laws to our product, technology, insurance, and marketing teams across multiple jurisdictions
• Draft and review terms, disclaimers, and consumer policies (e.g., user terms, consent flows, data usage statements, in-product messaging), complying with international insurance distribution regulations, privacy laws and related rights, including recent AI, privacy and security reforms and proposed regulations
• Establish effective relationships with business partners and peers to understand their business drivers and strategic priorities and to improve legal awareness and enable proactive issue spotting
• Develop internal frameworks and playbooks for product/legal reviews to enable scalable legal guidance for fast-moving teams
• Monitor evolving legal and regulatory trends in insurtech, fintech, and digital platforms and translate them into actionable guidance for the product roadmap
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

What you will bring:

• J.D. and a license to practice law in the State of California
• 6+ years of experience in-house or at a law firm
• Experience with global privacy and data security laws and regulations
• Experience supporting product launches
• Familiarity with insurance regulatory frameworks is preferred

What you will have:

• A people person with excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Able to work in a fast paced workplace/company, complying with short internal SLAs
• Able to multitask and prioritize work
