Team OverviewThis Procurement Attorney will join the Legal team and provide support for a broad range of U.S. vendor engagements and other business needs. Primary responsibilities include drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with our vendors and partners, and collaborating with subject-matter experts, TransUnion's Procurement Team, and other business stakeholders. You will report to the the Managing Counsel of the Legal team.
This is a hybrid position and involves regular performance of job responsibilities virtually as well as in-person at an assigned TU office location for a minimum of two days a week.
Role Overview and Core Responsibilities
Requirements:
- Partner and collaborate with stakeholders across the business
- Support vendor contract negotiations
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams including privacy, information security, third party risk management, insurance, and more
- Provide guidance when business or legal issues occur during the course of existing contract relationships
- Make impactful legal decisions and make business recommendations for an innovative, dynamic, public company that is a leader in the global marketplace
- Required Knowledge and Experiences
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited school
- Qualified candidates must have an active license to practice law and be in good standing in the applicable state(s) of employment by the position start date (or as otherwise permitted by state rules)
- At all times of employment, qualified candidates must remain in good standing and maintain an active license to practice law in their applicable state(s) of employment
- Experience reviewing and negotiating vendor/procurement contracts, inclusive of negotiating commercial and legal terms in IT, Facilities, Marketing, HR, and other professional services and commodity contracts
- Interest in global data privacy laws and regulations
- Creative problem-solving ability with a focus on achieving business-friendly solutions while managing company risk
- Solid commercial judgment, including the ability to anticipate, analyze, and make recommendations
- An interest in emerging technologies, a desire to solve complex problems and a curiosity to explore new ideas
