Responsibilities:
  • Manage a caseload of Florida probate matters, including formal administration, summary administration, and ancillary administration
  • Prepare and file petitions, orders, oaths, designations, inventories, accountings, and closing documents
  • Advise personal representatives and trustees on their fiduciary duties, timelines, and next steps
  • Handle creditor claims, Notice to Creditors, homestead determinations, and asset marshaling and distribution
  • Guide clients through trust administration, including trustee notices, accountings, and distributions
  • Appear at probate hearings and communicate with the court, opposing counsel, and beneficiaries
  • Identify contested issues early, such as will or trust challenges and beneficiary disputes, and help resolve them
  • Work closely with paralegals and support staff to keep files moving and deadlines met
  • Explain the process clearly to grieving families and keep them informed at every stage

Qualifications:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Active member in good standing of The Florida Bar

  • Courtroom experience in probate hearings; probate litigation experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage many active files and deadlines at once
  • Clear, empathetic communication, especially with families in stressful or emotional situations
  • Proficiency with practice management software (Clio experience a plus)
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
