Job Summary:We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Probate and Estate Planning attorney to join our legal team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for managing client matters from initial consultation through final resolution with minimal oversight. This attorney will work closely with a dedicated support team (paralegal, legal assistant, intake coordinator) and is expected to deliver results and superior service to our clients, whether it be for a trust or will based estate plan, a guardianship/conservatorship, or an estate administration.
Duties:
- Client Acquisition — Generate a minimum of 2 new retained clients per month through consultations, referral cultivation, community engagement, and firm‑supported marketing channels.
- Case Management — Independently manage estate planning and probate matters from intake to closing, including drafting, review, execution, filing, and client communication.
- Document Drafting — Prepare wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and related filings with high accuracy.
- Client Communication — Maintain proactive, empathetic, and timely communication with clients navigating grief, incapacity, or family conflict.
- Team Collaboration — Delegate appropriately to paralegals and support staff while maintaining responsibility for final work product.
- Compliance — Ensure all filings, notices, and procedures comply with Georgia probate rules and firm standards.
- Professional Development — Stay current on Georgia law, CLE requirements, and best practices in estate planning and probate.
- Workflow Adherence — Follow firm systems for drafting, review, client communication, and case tracking.
Skills:
- Extensive knowledge of multiple legal practice areas including estate planning, and probate.
- Strong negotiation skills complemented by the ability to draft clear documents.
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw; adept at statutory legal research.
- Excellent written communication skills for drafting estate plans, petitions, reports, and correspondence.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with procedural laws governing probate processes across jurisdictions.
- Experience with legal administrative tasks including case file organization and documentation management.
- Effective verbal communication skills for client consultations and courtroom proceedings, if needed.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while independently managing responsibilities
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor and active Georgia Bar membership in good standing.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in estate planning, probate, or related practice areas.
- Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong drafting skills and familiarity with Georgia probate courts and filing systems.
- Excellent communication, client‑service orientation, and professional presence.
- Ability to work full‑time in the office and collaborate with a support team.
