Overview:We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Probate Attorney to join our reputable law firm. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in estate planning, litigation, and a broad range of legal specialties including environmental law, family law, securities law, and tribal law & regulations. This role offers the opportunity to handle complex probate cases, provide expert legal counsel, and contribute to the firm's commitment to client service excellence. The Probate Attorney will be responsible for managing estate administration, drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and representing clients in probate proceedings. Strong research skills using LexisNexis and Westlaw, excellent writing abilities, and legal drafting expertise are essential for success in this position.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of probate cases from inception through resolution, including estate administration and litigation.
- Draft and review legal documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and court pleadings.
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies and ensure compliance with current laws.
- Advise clients on estate planning strategies, tax implications, and asset distribution.
- Negotiate settlements and represent clients in court proceedings related to probate matters.
- Provide counsel on related areas such as family law, landlord-tenant law, securities law, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, environmental law, immigration law, patent law, tribal laws & regulations.
- Maintain detailed case files and ensure all legal administrative processes are properly documented.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and staff within the law office to ensure efficient case management and client communication.
Experience:
- Minimum 5 year experience in trial advocacy and probate/guardianship/trust litigation in Florida.
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school with active bar membership in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Proven experience practicing probate law with a strong background in estate planning and litigation.
- Familiarity with a variety of legal fields including environmental law, family law, securities law, tribal laws & regulations, workers' compensation law, personal injury law, immigration law, patent law.
- Proficiency in legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw is required.
- Demonstrated ability to draft complex legal documents with clarity and precision.
- Prior experience working within a law office environment is preferred.
