About the Position:
The Court seeks dynamic, well-qualified, and highly motivated individuals to work as Probate Attorneys to fill additional positions in its growing Probate Unit. Probate Attorneys analyze submissions to the Probate court, advise the court on matters of Probate law and respond to procedural questions from the court, attorneys, and litigants. Incumbents analyze and interpret Probate and related law and apply Court and divisional policies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct legal research on Probate, Family, Mental Health, Welfare, Civil, Elder, and Tax law using online resources and other research tools to support court proceedings.
- Prioritize and manage multiple assignments under tight deadlines, ensuring timely and effective delivery of work that meets the needs of the Court.
- Exercise sound, independent judgment in the interpretation and application of laws, policies, and procedures within established guidelines
- Communicate complex legal issues clearly and effectively with judicial officers, attorneys, administrative staff, and the public.
- Collaborate with judicial officers, colleagues, and other professionals to complete projects and maintain effective working relationships with court staff, County employees, and stakeholders
- Ensure accuracy and professionalism by handling court records appropriately, demonstrating strong attention to detail in written communication, and proficiently using standard office software and equipment.
This Is a Telework Eligible Opportunity
This Position May Be Eligible for Full or Partial Telework Following an Initial 3-6 Month Training Period and Contingent upon The Needs of The Court.
Minimum Requirements:
To Qualify, You Must Meet All the Following Requirements at The Time of Application:
Graduation from An Accredited Law School*; an Active License with The State Bar of California; Five (5) Years' Experience Practicing Law in California, Three (3) Years of Which Include Practicing Probate Law Involving Matters Such as Decedents' Estates, Trusts, Guardianships, And/or Conservatorships.
