We are currently seeking an experienced Probate Attorney to join our team on a full-time basis. This position can be located in the area of any of our three offices, Dublin, Lancaster or St. Clairsville.

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Probate Attorney II to join our growing legal team. This senior-level role is responsible for leading complex probate and estate administration matters, mentoring junior attorneys and staff, and ensuring the highest standards of legal accuracy, client service, and operational excellence.
The Probate Attorney II serves as a key escalation point within the firm, providing strategic legal guidance, supporting team development, and collaborating with leadership to enhance client experience and legal operations.

Conduct legal research and remain current on developments in estate planning, tax law, estate administration, VA benefits, Medicaid, and long-term care planning.
Additional Duties:
Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support firm growth and client service excellence.
Education & Experience:
Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate is:
- Lead the management of complex, high-value, or non-routine probate and estate administration cases.
- Facilitate estate administration intake meetings for sophisticated matters and develop case strategies aligned with client goals and firm standards.
- Serve as an escalation point for legal strategy questions, procedural challenges, and client concerns.
- Conduct hearings and court appearances as needed.
- Advise clients on estate administration procedures, timelines, and legal obligations.
Drafting & Legal Production
- Prepare and file probate petitions, inventories, accountings, and related court documents.
- Communicate effectively with courts, fiduciaries, beneficiaries, trustees, clients, and other interested parties.
- Perform final file review and quality assurance before case closure.
- Ensure all files, notes, and case statuses are accurately maintained in our client and firm databases.
- Proactively uphold and improve the overall quality of documents, processes, and workflow.
Mentorship & Team Leadership
- Review the work product of junior attorneys and staff to ensure accuracy, completeness, and legal sufficiency.
- Support adherence to firm policies, procedures, and office protocols.
- Assist in developing internal training resources and continuing education initiatives.
- May lead workshops, seminars, and presentations as requested.
Client Experience & Operational Excellence
- Meet with clients, family members, and trustees to review the probate and estate administration process and provide reassurance and clarity.
- Respond to client questions and case status inquiries as needed.
- Identify opportunities to enhance client experience, workflow efficiency, and legal operations.
- Collaborate with the Managing Attorney on practice improvements and strategic recommendations.
Professional Development:
Conduct legal research and remain current on developments in estate planning, tax law, estate administration, VA benefits, Medicaid, and long-term care planning.
Additional Duties:
Perform other responsibilities as assigned to support firm growth and client service excellence.
Education & Experience:
- An active, in-good-standing Ohio law license is required.
- 5+ years of probate, estate administration, or closely related legal experience.
- Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex legal matters.
- Advanced legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Minimum of five (5) years of prior customer service experience.
- Prior mentoring, supervisory, or team leadership experience strongly preferred.
