Overview:We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Florida Licensed Probate Attorney to join our growing legal team. In this role, you will manage a variety of probate, estate, and trust matters while guiding clients through each stage of the legal process. The ideal candidate has strong experience in probate administration and litigation, excellent legal writing and advocacy skills, and the ability to manage cases independently in a fast-paced law firm environment.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of probate matters, including preparing and filing petitions, drafting court documents, and overseeing estate administration.
- Advise clients regarding estate planning matters, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and related documents.
- Conduct legal research using platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategy and ensure compliance with Florida law.
- Draft clear and accurate legal documents, including pleadings, motions, petitions, settlement agreements, and client correspondence.
- Manage contested probate matters and assist with resolving disputes involving estates, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, and creditor claims.
- Negotiate settlements and work toward efficient resolutions when appropriate.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients regarding case status, deadlines, and next steps.
- Collaborate with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure matters are handled efficiently and clients receive high-quality legal representation.
Experience:
- Active license to practice law in the State of Florida.
- 3–5 years of experience practicing probate law, with a strong background in estate administration and estate planning.
- Experience handling probate litigation, contested estates, or other complex probate matters.
- Strong legal research and writing skills, including experience using Westlaw and/or LexisNexis.
- Excellent drafting skills with strong attention to detail.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and client-service skills.
- Ability to independently manage deadlines, caseloads, and court requirements.
- Prior experience working in a law firm environment and using legal case-management systems is preferred.
