Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist and appear on cases for 450+ active probate matters.
  • Prepare for and appear on daily probate calls, supporting other associates as needed.
  • Draft, review, and sign pleadings for estate openings, settlements, and closings.
  • Deliver courtesy copies 7 days prior to every court date.
  • Maintain the daily update of court calendars.
  • Promptly perform assigned tasks and delegate effectively to paralegals.
  • Communicate status updates to clients, partners, and referral sources.
  • Collaborate with clients on estate strategy.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for referral sources.
  • Conduct phone conversations and conferences with clients and referral sources.

General Associate Duties:
  • Learn court procedures, caselaw, statutes, and other relevant areas.
  • Provide status updates on active matters.
  • Enter all billable time contemporaneously.
  • Stay informed of new developments in all practice areas.
  • Conduct research and writing as requested.
  • Provide support to other associates.
  • Supervise paralegals.

Requirements:
  • Strong organization, time management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to handle a high-volume caseload and thrive under pressure.
  • Excellent public speaking and communication skills.
  • Polished work product with a firm grasp of one of these legal writing software programs IRAC/CREAC/CRAC.
  • Self-driven and able to work independently.
  • Effective delegation and teamwork abilities.
  • Willingness to work weekends and long hours when necessary.
