Day Pitney's Private Client Department (PCD) is seeking an associate with a minimum of 5 years of international tax and estate planning experience to join our growing team. This position can be based in any of Day Pitney's offices.We are looking for candidates with significant experience advising on international tax matters and cross-border planning strategies that address complex multi-jurisdictional tax and legal considerations. The ideal candidate will have experience developing sophisticated estate planning and tax-efficient restructuring solutions for high-net-worth international families and their closely held businesses.
Qualified candidates should possess strong technical expertise, excellent analytical and writing skills, and the ability to independently produce high-quality client-facing work product.
Experience in the following areas is highly desirable:
- Foreign grantor trust planning
- Foreign nongrantor trust restructuring with US beneficiaries
- Pre-immigration and expatriation planning
- International income tax matters including planning with CFCs and PFICs
- Planning for foreigners to mitigate US gift, estate, and generation-skipping transfer taxes
- Tax-efficient ownership and restructuring of closely held businesses outside of the United States
- Planning related to U.S. real estate investments by non-US persons
- Tax compliance and reporting obligations for individuals and entities with cross-border interests
- Cross-border estate administration issues including Form 706-NA
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to manage complex international planning matters, collaborate effectively with colleagues across practice areas, and provide practical, business-oriented advice to clients with global interests.

Requirements:
