Kelley Drye & Warren LLP's nationally-ranked Privacy Law Practice group has an opening for a mid to senior level associate with experience in privacy/consumer protection government investigation defense work, advocacy writing, and counseling with compliance in federal and state privacy laws. Ideal candidates should have the following:
  • Previous national law firm experience, and at least 4+ years of experience in privacy law matters;
  • Significant experience representing companies in government investigations involving company data practices, digital advertising, sensitive data (e.g., Federal Trade Commission (FTC), state attorneys general);
  • Strong exposure and skillset counseling and working directly with clients to provide clear, practical advice on U.S. state privacy laws (comprehensive, adtech, sensitive data/health, kids/teens, data broker, online safety, AI, etc.);
  • Excellent writing and presentation skills;
  • Curious mindset and adept at seeking answers to and understanding evolving technology and understanding data flows;
  • Excellent organizational skills and comfort with working with multiple clients on a daily basis; and
  • Excellent academic credentials and strong interpersonal skills.

We work seamlessly across office lines and are open to considering experienced candidates in any Kelley Drye office but have a strong preference for the candidate to be based in Washington, D.C. Bar admission is required in an attorney's resident and/or affiliated office.

The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in Washington, D.C. if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees, and certifications (e.g., JD/technology) for example. Washington, DC Salary Range: Low: $275,000 High: $345,000.
