About the role:
Manning Kass has an exciting opportunity for Mid-level to Senior Associate, with at least 5+ years of experience, to join our Premises Liability Team in one of our Southern California offices!

Our Premises Liability Team manages a diverse range of cases, including the defense of restaurants, retail stores, sports clubs, attractions, theaters, and other businesses. Associates work closely with lead attorneys daily, engaging in all phases of litigation—from case evaluation and discovery to trial presentation—focusing on strategic thinking to achieve client goals. We seek candidates who are eager to learn, highly self-motivated, and interested in long-term professional growth.

Responsibilities:
  • Attending court hearings, participating in site inspections, taking and defending depositions.
  • Drafting extensive written discovery, including preparing and responding to interrogatories, documents requests and request for admissions.
  • Evaluating, analyzing, assessing, and executing litigation strategies.
  • Proactively manage communications with clients throughout the course of litigation.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree.
  • 5+ years of civil litigation experience.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar and in good standing.
  • Demonstrated experience in premises liability litigation, preferably within a law firm setting.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage and meet deadlines
