Position Overview:
As a Pre-Litigation Attorney, you will work closely with our Intake Department, Intake Attorney, and Managing Attorney to assess and research potential claims and defendants, draft and serve PAGA notices, prepare complaints, and conduct thorough personnel file reviews. The ideal candidate is proactive, analytical, and comfortable managing a high volume of employment matters in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
PAGA Notices &Complaints
  • Review &analyze personnel files, wage statements, and time records to identify potential wage-and-hour claims.
  • Draft, revise, and finalize PAGA notices, complaints, and pre-litigation correspondence.
  • Coordinate service of notices and track all agency deadlines.

Document Review & Case Development

  • Organize and maintain electronic personnel files and evidence using FileVine, Dropbox, and firm systems.
  • Summarize key facts and identify inconsistencies in employment records.
  • Prepare case chronologies, issue analyses, and memos for attorney review.
  • Conduct legal research on the litigation history of potential defendants.

Litigation & Pre-Litigation Support

  • Conduct introductory calls with clients to explain the pre-litigation process and gather detailed information to develop case facts for potential litigation.
  • Manage critical deadlines, including statutes of limitations, notice periods, and response dates.
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and government agencies regarding service, filings, and status updates.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff to ensure timely filings and accurate document management.
  • Participate in firm-wide initiatives and special projects as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Active California Bar membership in good standing (required).
  • 1–3 years of experience in employment law, class actions, PAGA, and/or litigation strongly preferred.
  • Strong drafting, legal research, and proofreading skills with exceptional attention to detail.

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
