Position Responsibilities:
- Manage a significant caseload and oversee a team of Case Managers
- Aid in case assessment, legal strategy, and medical management to maximize case value
- Manage and oversee cases from initial intake through settlement
- Review Case Manager performance metrics
- Negotiate and finalize settlements
- Review demands and complaints
- Interpret medical reports and bills
- Communicate with clients regularly regarding legal strategy and treatment plans
- Analyze fact patterns to help establish liability and clear coverage issues
- Evaluate cases for litigation readiness and make recommendations on filing suit
- Coordinate with litigation attorneys to ensure a smooth handoff on cases proceeding to suit
- Maintain a commitment to learning and providing high-quality legal representation
Position Qualifications:
- Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar
- At least 1–2 years of experience in personal injury law
- Strong working knowledge of California personal injury law, including auto accidents, premises liability, and slip and fall claims
- Familiarity with insurance claims processes, policy limits, and adjuster negotiations
- Ability to evaluate liability, damages, and case value to inform settlement strategy
- Understanding of pre-litigation timelines and statutes of limitations
- Familiarity with CasePeer or other legal case management software
- Strong negotiation, communication, and time management skills
- Detail-oriented and highly organized
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and provide guidance to case management staff
- Comfortable managing a high-volume caseload and meeting settlement deadlines
- Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Team-oriented with a positive attitude, contributing to our Los Angeles office culture
