This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys working closely with clients, developing case strategy, negotiating resolutions, and helping clients achieve favorable outcomes before litigation becomes necessary.

We handle a variety of dispute-based matters primarily focused in the real estate field, including representing homeowners with HOA disputes. We have a strong focus on helping clients navigate real-world conflicts that often have a significant impact on their personal or business lives. Our attorneys also have opportunities to contribute to articles, educational content, and thought leadership initiatives that help shape conversations within our practice areas and build their professional reputations.

You'll work alongside attorneys who have helped establish and expand one of the nation's most recognized homeowner advocacy practices, gaining hands-on experience while developing meaningful subject-matter expertise.

What You'll Do:
As a Pre-Litigation Associate Attorney, you will work closely with experienced attorneys who provide guidance, mentorship, and strategic support.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Managing matters with a focus on ADR processes prior to litigation.
  • Evaluating claims, analyze liability and damages issues, and develop early case strategies.
  • Drafting demand packages, settlement agreements, releases, and other pre-litigation documents.
  • Conducting legal research to provide informed advice and practical solutions for clients.
  • Communicating regularly with clients to provide guidance, updates, and strategic recommendations.
  • Negotiating settlements with opposing parties, insurance carriers, and counsel.
  • Participating in mediations, settlement conferences, and other dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Collaborating with senior attorneys to maximize case value and identify opportunities for early resolution.
  • Maintaining accurate case evaluations, settlement recommendations, and file documentation.
  • Staying current on developments in California law affecting client matters.

What We're Looking For:
We're seeking someone who is confident, resourceful, and committed to delivering excellent client service.

Preferred Qualifications include:
  • 2–5+ years of experience handling ADR and negotiated resolutions of dispute-based legal matters.
  • Strong negotiation skills and demonstrated success resolving matters outside of formal litigation.
  • Experience evaluating claims, assessing liability, and developing settlement strategies.
  • Experience conducting mediations, settlement conferences, and other ADR proceedings.
  • Excellent client communication and relationship-management skills.
  • Strong legal writing and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Sound judgment, emotional intelligence, and professionalism.
  • A practical, solutions-oriented approach to legal problems.
  • Experience with, or an interest in learning, California homeowner association law.
  • Experience in real estate, business, administrative practice areas is a plus.
