Job Description:Full-time senior post-conviction litigation attorney responsible for assisting with the investigation and litigation of previously screened credible claims of innocence.
- Case file review and case investigation
- Legal Research
- Identification and pursuit of forensic testing
- Drafting of motions for DNA testing, Motions for Appropriate Relief, and appellate briefs
- Representing clients in evidentiary hearings.
- Assisting the Executive Director with other projects as needed
Educational Requirements and Experience:
- Licensed to practice law in North Carolina or South Carolina.
- Minimum 5 years of legal experience.
- Experience in criminal defense.
- Experience in drafting motions and/or briefs.
