Scott & Associates, P.C., is a well-established multi-state legal recoveries law firm seeking an in-office attorney to assist with document / judgment review in support of our practice.

Since our inception in May 2000, we've evolved into a significant player in debt recovery litigation, providing comprehensive solutions for major banks and creditors.

This position is a salary opportunity with no billable hour requirements ideal for an attorney desiring to obtain civil litigation experience.

Must be licensed in good standing in Texas (required).

Salary is dependent upon qualifications.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Review and execute documents requiring Attorney's signature for TX post judgment inventory.
  • Communicate with Post Judgment Attorney Manager and clients in order to discuss details of cases
  • Assist in responding to post judgment specific components of all client audits
  • Monitor relevant legal rules, regulations, statutes, and case law
  • Conduct research and analysis of legal problems
  • Analyze the probable outcomes of cases, using knowledge of legal precedents
  • Prepare and file legal documents
  • Oversee support staff, assist in managing workflow as needed
  • Respond to inquiries from the collection and/or legal staff on handling post judgment accounts. Maintain job aides for team

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Graduate of an accredited institution by the American Bar Association (ABA) with a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree
  • Licensed to practice law in the state of TX required
  • Demonstrated case analysis ability and a track record of proven settlement skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel, and Power Point
  • Proficient in internet and online research
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment such as a copy machine, printer, scanner, and computer
  • Effective oral and written communication skills with knowledge of correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation usage
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time effectively
  • Excellent organizational skills with an eye for details
  • Ability to be flexible to adapt and act quickly when urgent matters require it

Salary dependent upon qualifications.
