Job Responsibilities:
- Must have taken the California bar exam (admission pending is acceptable); not yet authorized to practice independently.
- Assist attorneys with drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery documents, including law and motion, discovery motions, and propounding discovery.
- Conduct document review and organize case records to support litigation strategy.
- Prepare deposition and mediation materials, and assist with summarizing depositions.
- Perform legal research and summarize findings to support case strategy and litigation theories.
- Assist with fact investigation and case preparation, including review of electronic discovery materials (ESI).
- Attend client meetings and assist with preparation of materials for attorneys.
- Prepare clear and organized reports and summaries for attorney review.
- Support attorneys in all phases of civil litigation under supervision; may assist in coordinating with experts, witnesses, and outside vendors.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- 1-3 years of civil litigation experience with healthcare experience preferred
- Possess strong analytical skills and written communication skills
- Highly motivated professional who can take initiative and work independently as well as within a team
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong commitment to client advocacy and building professional relationships
