Job Overview:The Post-Bar Law Clerk supports attorneys in all stages of civil litigation — from case intake and discovery to trial preparation and post-judgment proceedings. This position bridges the gap between law clerk and associate attorney, requiring a high level of legal knowledge, organization, and professional judgment while awaiting bar results or licensure.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough legal research on statutes, case law, and procedural issues under attorney supervision.
- Draft legal memoranda, motions, oppositions, demurrers, and points & authorities for review.
- Assist with pleadings, declarations, and judicial council forms (e.g., discovery motions, CMC statements).
- Draft and review discovery requests (Form Interrogatories, Special Interrogatories, RFPs, RFAs) and meet-and-confer correspondence.
- Review and summarize document productions and organize evidence binders for depositions and trial.
- Prepare, proof, and coordinate electronic filings (OneLegal).
- Assist attorneys in client interviews, witness preparation, and deposition scheduling.
- Draft client correspondence, status updates, and document request letters for signature.
- Prioritization & Multitasking: Ability to handle multiple tasks and requests in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Communication Proficiency: Ability to read, write, and speak English (Spanish proficiency preferred but not required).
- Attention to Detail: Keen ability to spot errors and ensure all work is precise and accurate.
- Team Player: Ability to work well with others and maintain positive working relationships.

Required Education and Experience:
- J.D. from an accredited law school; awaiting bar results or newly admitted.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in any field.
- Strong research, writing, and communication skills.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
