Job Description:The Litigation Attorney will take primary responsibility for managing personal injury cases once they enter the litigation phase. This includes developing case strategy, overseeing discovery, drafting and arguing motions, and negotiating settlements. The attorney will work closely with clients, medical providers, experts, and opposing counsel to move cases efficiently toward resolution.
This role requires someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage deadlines across multiple cases while maintaining consistent communication with clients. The ideal candidate enjoys problem-solving, working collaboratively with staff, and advocating for clients throughout the litigation process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a docket of plaintiff personal injury cases from filing through trial.
- Handle depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials with increasing independence.
- Develop case strategy and oversee discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation.
- Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and guidance.
- Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to move cases efficiently toward resolution.
- Develop case strategies, conduct legal research, and draft high-quality legal documents.
- Engage in settlement negotiations and advocate zealously for clients.
- Work closely with experts, investigators, and medical professionals to build strong cases.
- Communicate with clients, keeping them informed and involved in their cases.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas (or eligible for admission).
- 2+ years of civil litigation experience, with at least some experience in personal injury or plaintiff-side work.
- Comfortable handling depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
- Strong knowledge of Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and Evidence.
- Excellent oral advocacy, legal writing, and research skills.
- Ability to develop case strategy and manage a docket independently.
- Strong client communication skills with a compassionate, client-centered approach.
- Team-oriented, self-motivated, and organized with strong attention to detail.
