Position Overview:Established and fast-paced plaintiff personal injury law firm in Las Vegas is seeking a motivated, client-focused and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to join our litigation team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about advocating for injured clients, capable of managing litigation personal injury matters, and comfortable working in a collaborative environment focused on achieving outstanding client results.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Handle a variety of plaintiff personal injury matters including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, wrongful death, and general negligence claims.
- Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal correspondence.
- Take and defend depositions, attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.
- Communicate with clients regarding case status and strategy.
- Assist with negotiating settlements with insurance carriers and opposing counsel.
- Collaborate with case managers, paralegals, and support staff to ensure timely case progression.
- Review medical records, bills, and support documentation related to damages and liability.
- Prepare cases for trial including witness preparation, exhibit review, trial briefing and assist in trial proceedings as needed.
- Maintain accurate and timely case documentation in accordance with firm policies.
- Stay current on Nevada personal injury laws, procedures, and case developments.
Requirements/Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Must be licensed to practice in Nevada, and an active membership in good standing with the Nevada State Bar.
- 3 to 7 years of civil litigation experience.
- Insurance defense experience, preferred.
- Strong writing, analytical, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience handling discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial.
- Strong client service, communication and relationship building skills.
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment.
- Organized, proactive and detail oriented.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and case management software.
- Must possess a prominent level of professionalism, and commitment to maintaining integrity and confidentiality on behalf of clients and the firm.
