Description:
About the role:The Law Offices of Eric A. Shore is seeking a New Jersey-licensed Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join our growing litigation team.
This is a pure litigation role. If you are looking for pre-litigation work, this position is not for you. If you want to litigate cases from filing through resolution, this may be the right fit.
Our firm has represented tens of thousands of clients throughout the United States over the last 25+ years. While the firm also handles disability and employment matters, our Personal Injury department is currently our largest and fastest-growing practice area.
For the most part, our pre-litigation and litigation departments are separate, allowing litigators to focus on litigation strategy, depositions, motion practice, arbitrations, settlement negotiations, and trial preparation.
We welcome attorneys at different experience levels. Newer litigators will generally start with smaller litigation files and grow into larger, more complex matters over time. More experienced litigators may be entrusted with larger and higher-value cases sooner. In both situations, attorneys will have meaningful responsibility for their caseloads along with accountability for results.
This role requires regular in-person appearances in New Jersey courts. Hybrid flexibility exists outside of court obligations, but applicants must be able to reliably appear in person when required.
We are looking for attorneys who are proactive, adaptable, collaborative, and interested in helping build an efficient and modern litigation practice.
What you will do:
- Manage a personal injury litigation caseload from filing through resolution
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and arbitration submissions
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
- Attend court appearances, arbitrations, mediations, and settlement conferences in New Jersey
- Prepare cases for trial
- Negotiate settlements with insurance carriers and defense counsel
- Work closely with paralegals, support staff, and fellow attorneys to move cases efficiently
- Maintain strong communication with clients throughout the litigation process
- Use the firm's technology systems, including Litify and AI-assisted tools, as part of your daily workflow
What we are looking for:
Required:
- Active New Jersey law license
- Personal injury litigation experience at any level, from newer litigators ready to manage files to seasoned attorneys with significant litigation backgrounds
- Ability to independently manage responsibilities while working collaboratively within a team environment
- Ability to appear regularly in New Jersey courts in person
- Comfort using modern legal technology and case management systems
- Interest in adapting to evolving legal technology and AI-assisted tools as part of modern legal practice
- NJ Bar (Required)
- Pennsylvania Bar (Required)
Preferred:
- An active Pennsylvania law license is a plus, but not required
- Deposition, arbitration, and motion practice experience
- Trial experience
- Experience with Litify, Filevine, Clio, MyCase, or comparable case management systems
- Spanish speaking ability is a plus
Case assignments are matched to experience level. Newer litigators generally start with smaller litigation files. More experienced litigators may be assigned larger and more complex matters depending on experience, judgment, and results.
This is a collaborative litigation environment. Attorneys work closely with paralegals, support staff, and leadership to solve problems, move cases forward efficiently, and deliver strong outcomes for clients.
There is no origination requirement. Attorneys who bring in cases, whether personal injury, disability, or employment matters, may receive origination compensation under the firm's policies, but business generation is not required for success in this role.
