About the Position:Sasooness Law Group, APC is seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to join our growing personal injury team. This position is ideal for an attorney with substantial personal injury litigation experience who enjoys taking ownership of cases, developing litigation strategy, advocating for clients, and seeing cases through to resolution.
The attorney will handle a caseload of personal injury matters, including motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and other personal injury claims. You will work closely with experienced attorneys, case managers, and support staff while having significant autonomy over your cases.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of personal injury matters from pre-litigation through litigation and resolution
- Develop and execute litigation strategies tailored to each case
- Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents
- Propound and respond to written discovery
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
- Attend court hearings, status conferences, and other litigation proceedings
- Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel, insurance carriers, and their representatives
- Prepare cases for mediation, arbitration, and trial
- Collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff on case strategy, development, and trial preparation
- Evaluate liability, damages, medical records, and settlement opportunities
- Maintain regular communication with clients and provide clear updates regarding case status and strategy
- Manage deadlines and ensure cases move forward efficiently
- Maintain accurate and timely case documentation in Filevine
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of personal injury litigation experience
- Trial experience is a plus, but not required
- Active California State Bar license and in good standing
- Strong experience independently managing personal injury litigation matters
- Experience with pleadings, discovery, depositions, and court appearances
- Strong negotiation, legal writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Ability to analyze liability, damages, and case value
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and competing priorities
- Professional, confident, and client-focused demeanor
- Experience with legal case management software; Filevine experience is a plus
