Job Overview:Baxley Maniscalco is a fast-growing law firm seeking a passionate and experienced (3-7 years) Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to join our legal team. Responsibilities:
- Manage personal injury cases from inception through resolution, including investigation, discovery, settlement negotiations, trial preparation, and strong advocacy at trial
- Conduct liability and doctor depositions, engage in high level motions practice, and present effectively to a jury
- Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, settlement agreements, and correspondence with clients and opposing counsel
- Perform legal research using tools like LexisNexis and Westlaw to support case strategies
- Develop comprehensive case management plans to ensure timely progression of each case
- Communicate effectively with clients, providing proactive updates and legal counsel throughout the litigation process
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school with active bar admission in Alabama
- Proven experience of 3 to 7 years in personal injury law
- Strong knowledge of procedural law, legal motion preparation, trial preparation, and courtroom procedures
- Proficiency in legal research platforms such as LexisNexis and Westlaw
- Excellent legal writing, drafting, negotiation, and advocacy skills
- Ability to handle multiple cases efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Exceptional client communication skills and a proactive approach to case development
- Strong advocacy and negotiation skills to achieve effective resolutions
We ask that you are on site two days per week to accommodate in-person meetings with clients, your team, and management, as needed. All remaining days of the week you are free to work from home as your trial/deposition calendar allows. We encourage candidates from the wider region to apply. In our experience the commute from Atlanta or Birmingham to our office is not overly burdensome due to the limited in-office days required.
Our compensation package is robust for a small firm environment.
We offer a competitive base salary plus a percentage of fees on all cases resolved. We also pay an origination fee of 33% for all personal injury cases you bring to the firm. This is in addition to the bonus structure for working the file. A successful lawyer in this role is expected to earn between $140,000 and $200,000 per year.
