Description:
RMD Law is a boutique plaintiff personal injury firm seeking a skilled and driven law and motion attorney to lead our motion practice. This role involves a mix of templated and custom law & motion work and will require extensive skills pertaining to legal research, original drafting, and strategic writing, especially for dispositive motions like MSJs.In addition to drafting, the attorney will be expected to make court appearances both in-person and virtual and may also be asked to cover depositions and hearings on behalf of the Firm. Candidates should be confident, organized, and comfortable representing the firm in a courtroom setting.
Duties:
- Draft and oppose a variety of motions, including motions for summary judgment/adjudication, demurrers, motions to strike, motions in limine, and discovery-related motions.
- Conduct thorough legal research to support ongoing litigation
- Collaborate with trial attorneys and litigation teams to develop a strategy
- Prepare legal memoranda, oppositions, and replies.
- Review and analyze discovery responses, deposition transcripts, and medical records as needed for motion work.
- Ensure timely filing and compliance with all applicable deadlines.
- Appear in court, including covering depositions and making in-person and virtual appearances on behalf of the firm
Qualifications:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience handling law and motion in personal injury litigation (Plaintiff or Defense)
- Exceptional legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage high-volume motion work while meeting tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with local rules in OC, LA, and the surrounding counties.
