Description:

About the role:
Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers is hiring an experienced Kentucky personal injury attorney to lead a three-person legal team handling motor vehicle injury cases.

Your team will consist of you, a dedicated case manager, and a dedicated legal assistant. You will have primary responsibility for case strategy, client outcomes, negotiations, team performance, and moving every assigned case toward the strongest possible resolution.

This is a leadership position for an attorney who wants meaningful responsibility, a strong caseload, substantial support, and compensation tied directly to performance.

What you will do:
  • Lead a dedicated three-person motor vehicle injury team
  • Develop the strategy and oversee execution for each assigned case
  • Direct the investigation, medical development, demand preparation, negotiation, and resolution of cases
  • Maintain regular and meaningful communication with clients
  • Negotiate aggressively and professionally with insurance carriers and defense counsel
  • Identify cases that require litigation and prepare them accordingly
  • Work closely with litigation attorneys and co-counsel when lawsuits are filed
  • Review the team's work for accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Train, develop, and hold your case manager and legal assistant accountable
  • Ensure deadlines, client commitments, and firm standards are met
  • Report directly to Sam Aguiar regarding significant cases, obstacles, results, and team performance

Our Firm:
Sam Aguiar Injury Lawyers is one of Kentucky's most recognized personal injury law firms. The firm makes a substantial ongoing investment in marketing, case acquisition, technology, staffing, and the resources needed to develop cases properly. That includes:
  • A consistent pipeline of motor vehicle injury cases
  • A dedicated team assigned to support your caseload
  • Case investments based on what is needed to increase value, rather than arbitrary cost limits
  • Access to experienced attorneys for collaboration
  • Technology designed to reduce administrative work
  • Significant earning potential for attorneys who produce strong results
  • No expectation that you build a practice from scratch
  • We are not looking for someone who simply processes files. We are looking for an attorney who takes ownership of outcomes, develops the people around them, and competes to obtain the best available result for every client.

Required Qualifications:
  • Active license to practice law in Kentucky
  • At least two years of full-time personal injury experience
  • Experience must involve the regular handling of personal injury matters; occasional PI cases within a broader general practice do not qualify
  • Strong knowledge of motor vehicle injury claims, insurance coverage, damages, and settlement negotiations
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate significant cases
  • Ability to evaluate liability, causation, medical treatment, damages, and case value
  • Ability to manage, train, and develop a legal support team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage deadlines and perform under pressure
  • Competitive drive and a strong sense of personal accountability
  • Litigation experience is preferred but is not required if you have substantial pre-litigation experience and a demonstrated ability to identify, develop, and maximize case value.

Compensation:
  • Six-figure base salary
  • Uncapped performance-based incentive compensation tied to fees collected on cases you resolve
  • Incentive compensation paid promptly following case closure and distribution of funds
  • Substantial fee split on qualified attorney-originated cases
  • The compensation structure is designed to reward attorneys who produce strong results, manage cases efficiently, deliver excellent client service, and lead successful teams.

Benefits:
  • Health insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Paid time off
  • Firm-paid malpractice insurance
  • Kentucky Bar Association dues paid by the firm
  • Firm-paid continuing legal education expenses
  • Firm-sponsored conference and professional development opportunities
