The position involves handling matters from intake through resolution and providing exceptional client advocacy throughout the litigation process.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage personal injury cases from inception through settlement or trial.
- Evaluate claims, assess liability and damages, and develop case strategy.
- Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery responses, demand letters, and other legal documents.
- Conduct legal research and factual analysis related to personal injury matters.
- Communicate regularly with clients, medical providers, experts, insurance adjusters, and opposing counsel.
- Take and defend depositions and participate in mediations and hearings.
- Negotiate settlements and advocate for favorable resolutions on behalf of clients.
- Prepare cases for trial and represent clients in court as required.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the firm's case management system.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
- Active and good standing membership with the Illinois State Bar.
- Minimum of 5 to 7 years of experience handling personal injury matters, plaintiff-side preferred.
- Demonstrated experience managing cases independently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to client service and professional excellence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience handling depositions, mediations, and hearings.
- Trial experience is a plus but not required.
- Bilingual proficiency is a plus but not required.
