Description:

Overview:
The Law Offices of Eric A. Shore is looking for a motivated plaintiffs' personal injury attorney to join our growing team of six personal injury lawyers.

We have a steady flow of new cases, experienced support staff, and a personal injury practice that continues to expand. We are looking for an attorney who enjoys evaluating cases, negotiating settlements, working with clients, and taking ownership of their work.

This position offers more than a traditional caseload. You will play an important role in evaluating new claims, overseeing prelitigation cases, supervising paralegals, and working closely with our litigation attorneys. For the right person, there is also an opportunity to grow into a leadership role helping manage our intake and prelitigation team.

We value attorneys who think independently, make sound decisions, and recognize the potential in cases others might overlook. We want someone who understands the risks involved in personal injury claims but isn't afraid to pursue a promising case simply because liability is disputed or further investigation is needed.

If you enjoy personal injury law, want meaningful responsibility, and are looking for an opportunity to grow with an established firm, this could be a great fit.

What You'll Do:
  • Evaluate new Pennsylvania and New Jersey personal injury cases, primarily motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, and other negligence claims.
  • Make case acceptance decisions based on liability, damages, insurance coverage, and potential recovery.
  • Direct intake staff and paralegals in obtaining the information necessary to properly evaluate claims.
  • Oversee a substantial inventory of prelitigation cases, ensuring claims are thoroughly developed and progress toward resolution.
  • Evaluate settlement demands, negotiate with insurance adjusters, and resolve claims.
  • Work closely with our litigation attorneys to identify cases that should proceed to litigation and coordinate those transfers.
  • Identify matters appropriate for referral to outside counsel or other disposition.
  • Supervise and support paralegals handling investigations, medical records, insurance claims, and settlement preparation.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients, providing the communication, attention, and service that earn excellent reviews and referrals.
  • Help improve case selection, prelitigation procedures, and overall department performance as our practice continues to grow.

What We're Looking For:
  • Active licenses to practice law in both Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
  • Plaintiffs' personal injury experience, particularly motor vehicle accident and premises liability cases.
  • Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania and New Jersey negligence law, damages, and insurance coverage issues.
  • Experience evaluating claims, negotiating settlements, and managing prelitigation matters.
  • Good judgment and the confidence to make timely, independent decisions.
  • Ability to manage a substantial caseload, prioritize effectively, and work efficiently without compromising the quality of representation.
  • A practical approach to case selection, including the ability to recognize the potential in challenging cases.
  • Excellent client communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with attorneys, paralegals, and intake staff.
  • Initiative, sound business judgment, and an interest in taking on greater responsibility as the firm grows.
  • Experience supervising staff or handling Pennsylvania workers' compensation claims is a plus, but not required.

We welcome applications from experienced personal injury attorneys as well as attorneys earlier in their careers who have developed strong plaintiffs' personal injury skills.

Experience supervising staff or handling Pennsylvania workers' compensation claims is a plus, but not required.
