About the Job:We are seeking a per diem attorney specializing in family law to join our team. The position is on-site with some flexibility for remote work, but does require court appearances and appearances at mediations and settlement conferences. The position will require you to handle matters in all aspects of family law matter from beginning to end, including issues of divorce, child custody, equitable distribution, spousal and child support, domestic violence, QDROs, etc. You will provide legal advice, draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, Case Information Statements, Marital Settlement Agreements, Consent Orders, and various other related submissions; you will appear in Court for various proceedings, and attend mediations and settlement conferences. The ideal candidate must have experience in family law, and be detail-oriented, empathetic, and have strong communication and negotiation skills.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New Jersey Bar
- At least five (5) years of family law practice experience
- Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
- Strong negotiation and mediation skills
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple cases simultaneously
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to client representation
- Strong and effective communication skills
- Willingness to assist other attorneys and the ability to work well in a team setting
- This is an hourly position; rate is commensurate with experience
