The Role:
We're seeking a sharp, motivated Trust & Estate Planning Associate to join a dynamic legal team in the heart of New Haven. This role offers the opportunity to work with ultra-high-net-worth clients and family offices, learn from experienced partners, and grow within a firm that values excellence and innovation. 

Join a respected firm with a tradition of excellence in estate planning and fiduciary services. We're looking for a thoughtful and detail-oriented Associate Attorney to support high-net-worth clients, families, and institutions in crafting tailored estate plans and navigating complex probate and trust administration matters.

Responsibilities:
  • Draft sophisticated estate planning documents and multi-generational trusts
  • Prepare advice for high-net-worth individuals, families, and fiduciaries on estate planning, tax-efficient wealth transfers, and business succession planning
  • Educate clients on the implications of high-end planning strategies
  • Assist in the administration of sophisticated trust and investment structures
  • Create tax efficient structures for domestic and multinational clients
  • Redesign existing trust and investment structures to better achieve client goals
  • Assist in tax compliance, including review and preparation of tax returns and information reporting

Key Skills and Experience

  • Strong academic credentials (J.D. required; LL.M. is a plus)
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience practicing in Trusts & Estates
  • Connecticut Bar admission (or eligibility to waive in) required
  • Strong drafting, writing, research and communication skills
  • Domestic estate planning experience required
  • International planning, income tax experience and/or estate administration experience a plus
  • Role requires strong project management and the ability to balance competing priorities
  • Compensation commensurate with experience: $205,000 - $260,000
