Description:

Haynes Boone is seeking talented mid-level Patent Prosecution associates with 2-5 years of relevant experience to join our Intellectual Property Practice Group in our San Francisco, Palo Alto, or New York offices. We will also consider highly qualified candidates for our Washington DC, Dallas, Dallas-North, Houston, Denver, and Orange County offices to help support Fortune 200 clients and more.

Qualifications:
  • J.D. from accredited law school and admission to practice in the applicable jurisdiction.
  • Degree in Computer Engineering required.
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • At least 3 full years of experience drafting and prosecuting patent applications directed to advanced computing technologies, preferably involving artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML).
  • Strong technical and patent prosecution experience in one or more of the following areas: medical devices, semiconductors, integrated circuits, financial technologies, cybersecurity, networking, cloud computing, software systems, or related technologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex technologies, communicate effectively with inventors and in-house counsel, and develop strategic intellectual property portfolios under partner-level mentorship and supervision.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation:
The expected annual base salary range for this position is $235,000 - $365,000 annually plus at market bonuses. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related considerations, consistent with applicable law.
