Description:

Haynes Boone is seeking a highly qualified Patent Agent with at least 3 full years of patent prosecution experience to join our Intellectual Property Practice Group in our San Francisco, Palo Alto, or New York offices. We will also consider exceptional candidates for our Washington, DC; Dallas; Dallas-North; Houston; Denver; and Orange County offices to help support Fortune 200 clients and more.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering required, or additional academic credentials in material science, physics or other engineering disciplines.
  • Registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
  • Strong technical expertise and/or patent prosecution experience on LTE/5G/6G Wireless Networks, computer hardware, AI, and deep learning.
  • Ability to effectively analyze complex technologies, work directly with inventors and in-house counsel under partner-level supervision and mentoring, and develop strategic patent portfolios.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare, file, and prosecute U.S. and foreign patent applications.
  • Conduct inventor interviews and collaborate with clients to identify and protect innovative technologies.
  • Prepare office action responses, conduct Examiner Interviews, and prepare other prosecution-related documents.
  • Support the development and management of domestic and international patent portfolios.
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and developments in patent law relevant to client industries.

Compensation:
The expected annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $250,000. Actual compensation will be based on a variety of factors, including relevant skills, experience, education, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related considerations, consistent with applicable law.
