Description:
Columbia Law School seeks candidates to join our dynamic, innovative, and diverse clinical faculty, and candidates who will the lead the future of clinical education. We wish to hire faculty committed to providing a powerful individual and collective learning experience where students serve as the primary providers of legal services, under close faculty supervision. Creative and thoughtful teaching that focuses on student development, law reform, and advancement of the profession are also central. Diversity – of life experience, perspectives, and approaches to lawyering – is essential and a high priority. We seek faculty who are deeply engaged in intellectual activities outside of teaching, whether through scholarship, public talks, or otherwise. We highly value collegiality and institutional citizenship.

Columbia Law School invites applicants for one clinical faculty position to design and direct a clinic focused on environmental law. A clinic could focus on litigation, policy advocacy, transactional work, or any other innovative model. Applicants should describe a clear vision for their clinic and clinical education more broadly.

Clinical faculty positions at Columbia Law School are non-tenure track positions that are or are expected to lead to a long-term, renewable contract. Applications from individuals at all levels of seniority are welcome.
