We are currently looking for a Mid-Level Finance Associate to join our Legal team in New York, NY.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a talented Mid-Level Finance Associate to join our growing Fixed Income practice. This role is ideal for an attorney who has a strong grasp of syndicated lending documentation and is looking to expand their expertise into structured finance. You will work closely with partners and senior counsel on sophisticated financing transactions, gaining significant hands-on experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft and negotiate primary and ancillary finance documents, including credit agreements, security agreements, and intercreditor agreements, utilizing both LSTA and LMA frameworks as well as bespoke documentation for esoteric transactions.
- Assist in the execution of structured finance transactions, including warehouse facilities, asset-based lending, and securitization-related matters.
- Work effectively within deal teams, coordinating with internal stakeholders and outside counsel to ensure seamless transaction closings.
- Participate in client calls and meetings, providing support to senior team members and responding to client requests in a timely and professional manner. Responsiveness is key.
- Actively participate in the firm's training programs and take ownership of discrete workstreams to develop your skills toward senior-level responsibilities.
- Monitoring relevant regulatory and legislative changes and requirements
- Working with internal clients on special projects as requested
- Managing outside counsel and outside legal expenses
- Assisting with third-party matters and ancillary litigation matters
Qualifications:
- 3–5 years of experience in a Finance, Banking, or Structured Finance practice at a reputable law firm.
- Solid working knowledge of LSTA and/or LMA syndicated loan documentation.
- Exposure to or interest in structured finance (e.g., asset-backed facilities, CLOs, or complex collateral structures).
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active member in good standing of NY State Bar
- Strong attention to detail and excellent drafting skills.
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet tight deadlines.
- A proactive, team-oriented mindset with a desire to learn and take on increasing responsibility.
- Candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented problem-solvers with high work standards, excellent organizational, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills; and a high-level of discretion, maturity and ethical integrity..
- Candidates must be able to work well both with a team and independently under limited supervision, and must be able to prioritize, meet deadlines, and be flexible to adapt to changing organizational needs.
- Candidates must be willing to work overtime as workload requires.
- Large law firm or investment bank experience strongly preferred.

The anticipated starting salary range for individuals expressing interest in this position is $175,000 - $200,000 per year. Placement within this range is dependent upon level of experience, location and other factors. This position is eligible for annual incentive compensation which will be a part of the total compensation. Total compensation for this position will be competitive with the market.
