Smith Anderson's Class Action Litigation practice is a key component of the firm's broader litigation platform and is nationally recognized for representing companies in high‑stakes, complex disputes. The group defends clients across a wide range of industries in class actions and mass actions involving consumer protection claims, privacy and data‑related matters, AI, financial services, products and services disputes, and other complex commercial issues. Our attorneys are regularly engaged at all stages of class action litigation, including early case assessment, motion practice, discovery, class certification, dispositive motions, settlement strategy, and appeals.

This position offers the opportunity to join a well‑established and growing class action practice and to work on sophisticated matters for leading clients. The associate hired for this role will work closely with experienced litigators and firm leadership, gaining meaningful responsibility and hands‑on experience in complex litigation matters. The practice emphasizes strategic thinking, careful risk assessment, and efficient execution, while fostering a collaborative environment in which associates are actively involved in shaping case strategy and client communication.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience with complex commercial litigation, including class action or multi‑party litigation, at a large or mid‑size law firm. Experience drafting substantive motions, managing discovery, working with experts, and interacting directly with clients is strongly preferred. The position is well‑suited for an attorney seeking to further develop a sophisticated litigation practice within a team that values initiative, sound judgment, and long‑term professional development.
