Job Description:We seek a talented and motivated mid-level attorney with 4–6 years of experience to join our Chambers ranked Labor & Employment Group. This role offers significant hands-on responsibility and the opportunity to take a lead role on matters while working closely with partners and clients.
Responsibilities:
- Handle all aspects of employment defense litigation, including factual investigation, drafting position statements and pleadings, discovery and motion practice.
- Take ownership of cases and manage day-to-day litigation activities.
- Conduct depositions, appear in court, and participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
- Conduct legal research and provide timely, strategic analysis and recommendations to clients.
- Counsel clients on a variety of employment-related issues, including reductions in force, terminations, equal pay audits, workplace investigations, and compliance with wage and hour and other employment laws.
- Draft employment policies, employment agreements, separation agreements and training materials.
- Provide M&A support; conduct employment diligence into target companies.
- Work closely with partners on litigation strategy and client development.
Qualifications:
- Excellent academic credentials
- Admitted to the New York State Bar
- Four to six years of litigation experience (law firm experience strongly preferred)
- Excellent analytical, writing, and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple matters independently and meet deadlines
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
This position is based in New York. The expected salary range for this role is $200,000 to $250,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications
Pay: $200,000.00 - $250,000.00 per year
