An Organization Serves Low-Income People by Providing Civil Legal Aid, is one of the largest statewide law firms in Alabama. LSA provides free, client-centered civil legal advocacy to low-income Alabamians and collaborates with others across the state and nation to find solutions to systemic issues caused by poverty and social justice inequities.

Mental Health Staff Attorneys will work under a grant funded by the Alabama Department of Mental Health (ADMH). The ADMH grant objective is to provide legal representation to low-income persons dealing with mental health conditions, substance use conditions, and/or intellectual disabilities. They will assist in civil legal matters with a primary focus on housing stabilization, including estate, family, housing, consumer, education, public benefits, and unemployment law. These positions can be based out of the Anniston, Tuscaloosa, or Selma offices and will serve clients in the surrounding counties.

Qualifications: This position is an exciting opportunity for attorneys who are admitted to the Alabama Bar and who are passionate about serving low-income populations. Strong legal writing and communication skills are required. Preference is given to attorneys who are bilingual.
