Job Summary:Plaintiff-side law firm located in the Financial District of Manhattan is seeking a PFAS Mass Tort Litigation Attorney with at least 2 years of litigation experience to join its expanding environmental and toxic tort practice. The ideal candidate will have experience handling complex litigation matters, including discovery, motion practice, depositions, and court appearances. This is a full-time, in-person position offering direct partner access, substantial responsibility, bonus opportunities, and a clear path for advancement, including partnership-track consideration.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of PFAS-related mass tort matters from intake through resolution
- Draft pleadings, complaints, discovery demands and responses, motions, and other litigation documents
- Conduct and defend depositions of plaintiffs, fact witnesses, experts, and corporate representatives
- Draft and argue motions, including discovery, procedural, and dispositive motions
- Coordinate and manage large-scale discovery efforts involving environmental contamination and toxic exposure claims
- Attend court conferences, hearings, and other appearances as necessary
- Work closely with clients, experts, consultants, co-counsel, and litigation support teams
- Analyze and organize medical, environmental, and scientific records
- Participate in multidistrict litigation (MDL) proceedings and coordinated state court actions when applicable
- Assist with trial preparation, including exhibit management, witness preparation, and case strategy
- Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case developments and litigation status
Skills:
- Strong legal research, writing, and motion drafting abilities
- Experience conducting and defending depositions
- Knowledge of New York civil practice and litigation procedures
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand complex medical, scientific, and environmental issues
- Excellent case management and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple complex matters in a fast-paced environment
- Strong client communication and interpersonal skills
- Attention to detail and ability to meet litigation deadlines
- Minimum 2 years of litigation experience
- Experience in mass tort, toxic tort, environmental litigation, product liability, personal injury, or complex civil litigation preferred
- Admitted to practice and in good standing in New York
- Court appearance and motion practice experience required
- Ability to work independently and manage a substantial caseload
