Description:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • JD, LL.B., equivalent degree, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 7 years of attorney-level experience in government, in-house, or at a law firm.
  • 7 years of experience with legal, regulatory and litigation matters, including addressing, minimizing, and avoiding regulatory risk.
  • Experience managing teams.
  • Admitted to the bar and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law (e.g., have registered in-house status) in the state in which the position is located.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting internal investigations or data incidents.
  • Ability to manage operational teams including those performing intake/triage, process improvements, and strategic planning.
  • Ability to see the big picture and make connections across teams and issues. Excellent business judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills. Ability to manage and prioritize multiple timelines and projects.
  • Process-oriented and highly organized, with the ability to manage complex matters/cases and multiple stakeholders under time sensitive deadlines.
  • Proactive approach to anticipating issues and solving problems. Comfortable with ambiguity and managing through influence.

As a part of the Regulatory Affairs, you will help navigate a shifting global regulatory framework and the growing role of AI in how we work, transforming how we execute our mission at scale. In this role, we are seeking a lawyer with experience in regulatory engagement or defense, and a passion for leveraging AI and agentic solutions to lead our new Standards, Operations, and Scaled Resolution team.

In this role, you will sit at the critical center of legal advisory work, operational innovation, and matter execution. You will lead a high-performing team of tech-forward Program Manager (PgMs) and advise on how we leverage AI to scale our matter management and execution safely, ensuring that our shift toward automated, human-in-the-loop regulatory workflows is legally sound and defensible.Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

US: $252000 - $352000 (USD) + 25% bonus target + equity + benefits.

Responsibilities:
  • Support operations and manage resourcing for centralized intake, assessment, and assignment triage of investigations and incidents.
  • Provide strategic support for higher tier matters (i.e., priority 0/crises), and product area/cross-functional engagement (e.g. unique info requests), running syncs or driving consensus and identifying solutions.
  • Partner with investigation and incident leads to set Google-wide standards and processes.
  • Oversee escalations, working across Regulatory Affairs teams and cross-functional teams and drive solutions.
