Manager, Counsel - Financial Services Legal Team

In this role, you will advise business teams responsible for An American Bank Holding Company's consumer- and dealer-facing products on a wide array of topics. On a daily basis, you will help identify risks and problem solve alongside a team of world-class professionals. More specifically, in this role you will:
  • Provide strategic, clear, and contextualized legal advice on a variety of complex issues and topics
  • Translate laws, regulations, and legal requirements tailored to specific business processes, practices, and initiatives
  • Build deep relationships and collaborate with business stakeholders in wide-ranging roles
  • Closely collaborate with members of the Legal Department to provide advice in a consistent, well-reasoned manner
  • Work autonomously, understand and appropriately prioritize business needs, and develop creative solutions to meet needs/goals

Basic Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Member in good standing of at least one state bar
  • At least 3 years of experience in a law firm, governmental agency, or as in-house counsel, working on consumer finance litigation or regulatory compliance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • At least 4+ years of experience in a law firm, governmental agency, or as in-house counsel, work in consumer finance or regulatory compliance
  • Knowledge of, and proficiency with, financial and consumer protection laws
  • Experience working with and understanding Artificial Intelligence (Ai), technology, data, and process improvement
