Position Summary:Marion Superior Court is accepting resumes for a full-time Magistrate. This position will work in the Court's Civil and Criminal divisions. Magistrates are paid through the State. Benefits, including retirement accounts, are also through the State. Ideal candidates shall have a minimum of five years experience.
Position Responsibilities:
May include any of the following:
- Conduct initial hearings;
- Review and rule on motions;
- Review and rule on search warrants;
- Preside over Probation and Community Correction violation hearings;
- Preside over hearings (including remote hearings) and bench trials;
- Preside over jury trials;
- Other duties as assigned by the supervising Judge.
Qualifications:
Applicants must be admitted to practice law in the State of Indiana with five years of practice and be in good standing with the Indiana Supreme Court.
