Description:
Schreiber Law, LLC is a regional consumer collections law firm seeking a newly admitted, 0-3 years' experience, full-time Massachusetts attorney to work in its Salem, NH office representing creditor clients. The primary duties of this position is legal document review. You will also get immediate courtroom experience representing clients on motions and trying cases. The ideal candidate is admitted to the Massachusetts bar, adaptable, confident, patient, organized, computer savvy (proficiency in Excel required), and a team-player. The candidate must also be eager to work in a fast-paced environment, handling a high-volume case load, and be able to take cases from commencement through post-judgment proceedings.The primary responsibilities of the lawyer who is hired for this position include:
- Provide support to non-attorney staff including, but not limited to, research, reviewing pleadings, answering questions, and providing general guidance on creditor cases.
- Primarily engage in the litigation and collection of consumer debts.
- Effectively representing clients in court.
- Work with clients on contested/complex matters and make recommendations to achieve the best outcome.
- Work with opposing counsel and pro se defendants to resolve disputes and negotiate settlement agreements.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws, and adherence to court procedures and processes.
- Working on special projects/research as needed.
Must have qualifications:
- Licensed by the Massachusetts Bar.
- Ability to think creatively, problem solve, and work cooperatively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent negotiation skills.
- Strong computer skills and/or experience with case management systems.
- Strong independent work ethic.
- Must be willing to travel to the courts in Massachusetts.
