Description:
Position Summary:The Personal Injury Junior Attorney will work under the supervision of the Senior Litigation Attorney and support a team of three attorneys. This role involves active participation in all stages of litigation, including case development, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation. The Junior Attorney will also serve as a back-up to the Senior Litigation Attorney to ensure seamless case management and client service.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from anaccredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing with theTexas State Bar (or awaiting results/admission)
- 3-5 years of litigation experience, personal injury law required
- Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client and team interactions
- Willingness to learn from and collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members
- Commitment to professional growth and development
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
- Trial or courtroom experience, including motion hearings, depositions, or participation in trial teams is a plus (1st or 2nd chair)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Senior Litigation Attorney and litigation teamin managing a docket of personal injury cases
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents
- Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda to support litigation strategies
- Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials, asdirected
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and gathering case information
- Participate in case strategy meetings and contribute totrial preparation
- Review and analyze medical records, accident reports,and other evidence
- Support the Senior Litigation Attorney in case management, calendaring, and deadline tracking
- Serve as back-up to the Senior Litigation Attorney in their absence, ensuring continuity in case handling andclient communication
- Collaborate closely with paralegals, case managers, and other attorneys to ensure efficient case progression
