Job Description:Are you looking for a part-time position with flexible hours and remote work? If so, we have an opportunity for you. Bowles Rice LLP is seeking a part-time attorney to assist with court-appointed cases, primarily in Kanawha and Wood County, West Virginia. This person will work on court-appointed cases covering criminal defense, abuse & neglect proceedings, and juvenile delinquency/juvenile status offense cases. The work will include all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, preparing and responding to written discovery, interviewing witnesses, drafting motions and briefs, taking and defending depositions, and developing overall case strategy. This position offers a flexible schedule with remote work opportunities. Candidates must attend court hearings in and around Parkersburg and Charleston, West Virginia.
Candidates must be equipped with strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills and have at least three years of experience as a practicing attorney. Candidates must be licensed to practice in West Virginia and able to travel to Parkersburg as needed.
Must be able to successfully pass all required background screening, including criminal.
